The Coastal Bend Council of Governments (CBCOG) has obtained grant funds for over forty years to contract with an accredited training academy providing the highest quality education, training and professionalism in law enforcement. The academy provides support to police departments, including university and ISD departments, sheriff offices, constable offices, and other type security/corrections agencies in the CBCOG 11-County Region. Basic training is provided to cadets as well as continuation courses to meet requirements to maintain licensure. All training is in compliance with standards specified by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE).

The CBCOG has applied for a two-year continuation grant from the Office of the Governor, Public Safety office, Criminal Justice Division. The CBCOG highly anticipates the grant award to continue an accredited training academy for FY 2019 thru 2021. The CBCOG is inviting all certified training academies in the Region to bid on contracting with the CBCOG to conduct the next training academy with the anticipated funding award from the Office of the Governor.

The contract will be awarded to one accredited entity to which will provide the two-year training. The contractor will be expected to provide all required courses. The CBCOG is requesting bids, and providing a proposal packet to all interested parties. Packets may be obtained by Thursday, August 22nd, 2019 via email at - Subject Line: RFP – Training Academy, or in person at the CBCOG office at 2910 Leopard Street, Corpus Christi, TX 78408.

The proposal packets should be submitted or mailed to the CBCOG office in a sealed envelope clearly marked “SEALED PROPOSAL – DO NOT OPEN” on the outside. See address listed above, ATT: Luci Rios. The deadline to submit the packet bid is Wednesday, September 4th, 2019, by 5:00 PM. Proposal bids submitted by email will not be accepted. All proposals received by the CBCOG will be publicly opened and read on Thursday, September 5th, at 1:00 PM.
