Notice of Opportunity to Provide Informal Public Comments on Regional Solid Waste Management Plans

The executive director (ED) of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (commission) is providing an opportunity for informal public comment on the regional solid waste management plans developed by the 24 regional councils of government (COGs).

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies (HRI) researchers are bringing their expertise in disaster recovery and mitigation to help Coastal Bend communities build resilience after disasters like 2017’s Hurricane Harvey and the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in small town and rural areas.

The Council maintained its ongoing efforts in providing 9-1-1 services in its 11 county region, State Planning Region 20 during calendar year 2018. This work was accomplished with funding for a two-year period under a contract with the Commission on State Emergency Communications (CSEC). The Council has been involved in regional 9-1-1 planning and implementation since the late 1980s.
