Training Opportunity – Please share!
Join us for a Psychological First Aid (PFA) training that will be hosted at Corpus Christi–Nueces County Public Health District.
Training Details:
• Date: Friday, January 30, 2025
• Time: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (all-day training)
• Location: CCNCPHD Auditorium, 1702 Horne Road, Corpus Christi, TX 78416
About the training:
Psychological First Aid is an evidence-informed approach that teaches practical, compassionate skills for supporting individuals in the immediate aftermath of a crisis, disaster, or traumatic event. Similar to physical first aid, PFA focuses on reducing stress, promoting calm, enhancing safety, and connecting people to appropriate resources. It is designed for responders, volunteers, and community members and does not involve providing therapy. These skills are valuable anytime, anywhere, and with anyone.
The training is free of charge, and lunch will be provided. Because food and materials must be planned in advance, RSVPs are essential. If you commit to attending, please make every effort to be there or if you need to cancel, please contact Moriam Ojelade at MoriamO@corpuschristitx.gov
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. Thank you and we hope you’ll take advantage of this valuable learning opportunity.
