(Day 1, students will meet at the classroom location and move to the skills location mid-morning. All of day 2 will be at the skills location.)

Prerequisite: Must be a state-certified Peace Officer, EMS provider, or firefighter with a valid driver's license.
Required Equipment: Students must provide their own vehicle for the course. It must be in good running order for performance driving. Sedans, SUVs, and 1/2 ton trucks are allowed (must be short wheelbase, no F250's or 2500's). Each vehicle will need at a minimum 1 mounted spare tire and tire-changing tools.
Maximum Students: 10 APPD, 5 outside APPD
Course Description:
This course covers the proper operation of an emergency vehicle and is critical for police officers and public safety. In the Emergency Vehicle Operation course, participants become familiar with terminology, driving skills, and liability issues that relate to the operation of a police vehicle. This 20-hour course includes hands-on driving exercises that will enhance an officer's ability to operate a vehicle during an emergency situation by teaching personal and vehicle control limitations. This course will also cover a portion of off-road driving, suitable for all patrol vehicles.
