We want all Texans age 60 and older as well as Medicare-eligible people with disabilities of any age to have ready access to trained and certified benefits counselors.

The Benefits Counseling program provides information, counseling, and advocacy to senior citizens, and Medicare beneficiaries of any age, on their public benefits, entitlements, and legal rights. Benefits Counselors also provide public education on a variety of topics impacting seniors.

How a benefits counselor can help you

A benefits counselor answers questions regarding the application process for programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and Supplemental Insurance over the phone, through office visits, phone visits, presentations and enrollment events in the community. Benefits counselors are trained and certified.
